Daniel Santollo TEKPATL

Visual Artist | Michoacan, Mexico

Tekpatl is a Portland-based Indigenous/Chicano self-taught visual artist. Born in Michoacán, Mexico and raised in Portland, he is a naturally creative force who brings ideas to life with intention and passion. Deeply influenced by the vibrant colors, intricate patterns, and rich history of his Indigenous Mexican heritage, his work reflects both cultural pride and contemporary expression.

Since joining IDEAL PDX in 2021, Tekpatl has quickly grown into a lead artist within the collective. Through his vision and dedication, he has directed some of the collective’s most significant mural projects, including Frida Kahlo and Diego Are Here, which he co-directed. In addition to his mural work, he actively engages with the community, leading workshops and teaching through the Studio Latino Arts and Education Program, where he shares his skills and inspires the next generation of artists.

His multidisciplinary practice spans digital illustration, printmaking, logo design, traditional painting, and large-scale murals, showcasing both versatility and a strong cultural narrative.
