AGES: 14+

This workshop is inspired by the metal-embossing technique used in Mexican folk art with the Day of the Dead Calavera (skull) theme. You will learn about Repujado (re-poo-ha-do) and the history behind this craft. Participants will have the opportunity to design, trace, add texture, press, and paint their aluminum calaveras. If time permits, we can create a second calavera, or you can take a piece of aluminum to practice at home. You provide the creativity, and I will bring the materials, with the exception of a hard surface to work on, such as a notebook or clipboard bigger than 6”x6”.
