Mullowney Printing Company and IDEAL PDX present Santiago Savi: Tributo a Mis Muertos, an exhibition by Santiago Savi featuring work by six IDEAL artists, created in collaboration through the Federico Sevilla Sierra Memorial Printmaking Residency.
Portland, OR - Mullowney Printing Company is proud to present Tributo a Mis Muertos, featuring new work by Santiago Savi, created during his two-week residency as the Fall 2025 recipient of the Federico Sevilla Sierra Memorial Printmaking Residency. Visiting from Mexico City, Savi collaborated with Mullowney’s team from October 13–24, 2025 to develop a new body of prints that anchor this exhibition.
Presented in partnership with IDEAL PDX, Tributo a Mis Muertos fosters artistic dialogue between Mexico and the Pacific Northwest. In addition to hosting Santiago Savi, Mullowney Printing collaborated with the six Portland-based artists affiliated with IDEAL PDX; Oliver Casillas, Jose Gonzalez, Virginia Marting, Savina Monet, Daniel Santollo, Cristian Tellez, and Yathzi Turcot, in a series of workshops designed to expand their technical and conceptual engagement with printmaking. These local artists' works will be presented alongside Savi’s prints, creating a dynamic conversation across geography and practice. Together, the exhibition reflects a shared commitment to identity, tradition, and contemporary printmaking.
A special Día de Muertos installation curated by IDEAL PDX founder Jessica Lagunas accompanies the exhibition, along with artist talks and a community celebration. These programs aim to deepen cross-cultural engagement and celebrate shared heritage and resilience. We invite the public to join us for the opening reception on November 6 at the exhibition space adjacent to the Mullowney Printing studio, located at 1633 NW Glisan, Portland, OR 97209.
The exhibition includes a unique viewing of the monumental woodcut, The Triumph of Death, by Artemio Rodriguez. The nine by twelve foot print, based on the painting by Pieter Bruegel the Elder created c. 1562, Published by HuiPress, Maui, and printed by Paul Mullowney is being shown in Portland for the first time.
Tributo a Mis Muertos is open to the public by appointment only, Tuesday through Saturday from 11 AM to 2 PM. To schedule a visit, please email: info@idealpdx.com.
